The climatic health resort Herrischried is located in the Hotzenwald (part of the southern Black Forest) and is between 850 and 1050 meters above sea level. Together with its 6 districts, Herrischried has 2700 inhabitants. The Swiss border is only 20 km away and the French border is 50 km away. In the village there is a supermarket, several good restaurants, a butcher, a bakery, trout farm, a gas station, cash points from (Sparkasse and Volksbank), a post agency, a Catholic and a Protestant church, a doctor, a dentist (also orthodontics), a hairdressing salon and medical foot care. There is a thermal bath about 20 km away.
